Lita Ford’s Net Worth $3 million
Born in London, England, to an English father and Italian mother, Ford moved to the United States with her family and settled in Los Angeles. At 11 years old, Lita began learning to play the guitar, and at 16 she was recruited into an all-girl band, “The Runaways”. The band was formed in 1975 and immediately achieved success in the underground world of rock ‘n’ roll. The band’s notoriety helped Ford advance her career and increase her wealth.
Unfortunately, the band disbanded after four years due to differences in musical direction.
Ford then embarked on a solo career, releasing her first solo album, “Out for Blood”, in 1983, which underperformed in the charts. The following year, her album “Dancin’ in the Edge” received a positive reception from fans, with the single “Fire in My Blood” charting in several countries.
In 1988, she released her self-titled album which became a huge success. Her duet with Ozzy Osbourne – “Close My Eyes Forever” – became a chart-topper and remains one of her most memorable hits. The success of “Lita” revived her solo career and significantly boosted her wealth.
Following “Lita”, Ford released three more albums – “Stiletto”, “Dangerous Curves”, and “Black” – none of which matched the success of her third album. After years in the music industry, she took a break from her career to focus on raising her two children.
In 2009, Ford returned to the music scene with a new band and released the album “Wicked Wonderland”. This was followed by tours and collaborations with former rock icons, and in 2012 she recorded another album, “Live Like A Runaway”. Her comeback albums and tours revived her career and further increased her wealth.
In early 2016, she released a new album titled “Time Capsule” and a memoir “Living Like A Runaway”.
On the personal front, Ford was briefly married to guitarist Chris Holmes in the ’90s. In 1994, she married Jim Gillette, vocalist of band Nitro, and they have two children, but separated in 2011.
